Dr Btihaj Ajana is an international scholar in the field of digital culture and a documentary filmmaker. She is Senior Lecturer at the department of Digital Humanities, King's College London. Her work is interdisciplinary in nature and spans various areas of research including the critical study of new media technologies and identity systems, digital health and self-tracking technologies, immigration and citizenship governance, and the socio-political and ethical aspects of surveillance culture. She is the author of Governing through Biometrics: The Biopolitics of Identity (Palgrave, 2013) and editor of Metric Culture (Emerald, 2018) and Self-Tracking (Springer, 2018).
