Gavin Elliott is an experienced design leader and speaker. He is currently Head of Interaction and Service Design at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in the UK government, having joined in 2015. Before that he was Head of UX and Product at TravelJunction. Gavin spends the majority of his time embedding user-centred design and building the capability of a 50+ group of designers at the DWP. Using his skill and experience he specialises in solving complex problems in simple ways balancing strategy and practicality. He is passionate about establishing, embedding and growing user-centred design within organisations as well as leading design teams on their personal and professional journeys. In addition to his role at DWP, Gavin mentors 3 designers from varying backgrounds and sectors. On the side, Gavin speaks regularly about Impostor Syndrome, designing good services and professional progression.
